RoboCup Junior Open France
2025
The 2025 edition was held on May 31st and June 1st, 2025 at the Bordeaux Exhibition Center as part of the
Bordeaux International Fair.
With 62 teams and nearly 250 competitors, the 2025 edition is experiencing a slowdown compared to previous years due to both
- on the calendar (right in the middle of the Ascension weekend),
- to the financial contribution requested from the teams to compensate for the drastic reduction in public support
- to the abrupt end of the partnership with the URG group (in liquidation) with whom we had set up the "Nao Challenge" (7 teams in 2024)
The vast majority of teams come from the academies of Bordeaux and Ile-de-France, but other academies such as Clermont-Ferrand, Limoges, Montpellier, Poitiers or Rennes were able to send representatives.
A team from the Franco-Bolivian Lycée Alcide-d'Orbigny in La Paz (Bolivia) even participated via video conference (live) in the OnStage league
Five kindergarten and early elementary classes (grades 1-3) came to showcase their year's work on robotics and, this year, were able to present a short skit on stage, under the conditions of the OnStage competition. This experience was particularly appreciated by the students, their teachers, and the audience alike… and will be repeated and expanded next year.
For their part, the competitors, primary school students (CM1, CM2), middle school students, high school students and university students, were able to compete in 7 different challenges according to the international RoboCup rules:
-
OnStage
-
Soccer Open
-
Rescue (Line, Line Entry, Maze, Maze Entry)
-
Soccer Cam Track
Alongside the competitions, 14 stands, run by local associations and businesses, offered around forty introductory workshops in robotics and programming.
