Rescue Simulation (Webots - Erebus)

Rescue Simulation offers exciting new learning opportunities thanks to a recently developed platform (Webots-Erebus). The virtual robot must explore and map a maze composed of different rooms and identify any victims it encounters. The rules of Rescue Simulation are similar to those of Rescue Maze and have been enhanced with new areas featuring more complex terrain. Furthermore, some elements of RoboCup Rescue Major are integrated.

The Webots-Erebus platform was selected for the rescue simulation demonstration competition in early June 2020 after being tested with volunteer teams during workshops. The platform was subsequently refined, and a virtual demonstration competition took place in October 2020.

At the 2021 RoboCup International, another demonstration competition, similar to the one in October, took place. Since 2022, rescue simulation has been a regular competition held annually at international events.

Rescue Simulation Documentation

As part of the international competition, teams must prepare the following documentation, including a new one: the technical video in 2025!
